A few weeks ago I had the priveledge of going to The Briefing at Forest Home! I became a Christian at camp when I was 13, and since then I have always had a soft spot for camp ministry. I even worked the Night Crew cleaning toilets at Hume Lake one year (best job ever, by the way... well besides being a photorapher) but I have never been to Forest Home.
I am so glad I decided to go, not just because the speakers and band were awesome and totally challenged my relationship with God, but because I got to bond with my fellow Shoreline campers! Plus I got to spend a whole afternoon wandering through the forest, picking wild blackberries! I felt very much like Huck Finn, which I love!
Here are some highlights...

The blackberry hunt is on!

Paul, risking it all for fresh blackberries!

This particular path I went down was apparently ladybug city! They were EVERYWHERE! This is just one picture of many I took of the ladybugs congregating.

Don't you just LOVE her big blue eyes? Jealous!

Our main speaker, Albert Tate. He is funny, enigmatic, and refreshingly honest in his speaking. If you have the opportunity to hear him speak, definitely do it!

Urban Rescue, our awesome band. I admit that not all "band dudes" are nice to the "little people," but these guys were down to earth, rad folks and wrote intelligent, challenging worship songs! I have been a little obsessed with their CD since I came home! Check them out at

Great pictures Nicole. The ladybug picture is incredible.
I really like these pictures, they turned out great. The ladybug one was amazing!!
I was thinking about that article in the biola newspaper about why NOT to date jesus. And then I started thinking, Laura really took it to the next level. But not. And then I laughed alone in my room and thought of you.
i also love the ladybug convention.
